OFFECCT Bird
The table Bird, designed by Johan Ridderstråle & Mats Broberg, is a different ‘single table’ whose design brings the mind to a bird’s leg. With a connected form and special design the table has its own expression but remains easy to apply. Bird can stand alone or complement different seating constellations. Bird has a graphic yet dynamic form language due to its many directions. The unique foot consists of a water-cut sheet and a triangular pipe that has the features of a bird’s foot. The idea to Bird came when the creators visited the the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm to collect inspiration.
“We met Offecct about a year before the launch of Bird and discussed the possibilities of elements complementing seating constellations, such as single tables with unique forms. We all agreed that there was a need for a funny table with lots of expression in this genre. Offecct liked the concept and a year later Bird was launched”, says Johan Ridderstråle.
